About Me
I hold a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences from Tribhuvan University in Nepal, an M.S. in Soil Sciences from North Carolina State University, and a Ph.D. in Ecology from Johns Hopkins University.
Currently, I am an Ecology, Evolution, Environment, and Society Postdoctoral Fellow at Dartmouth College.
Growing up in Nepal nurtured my deep appreciation for nature and shaped my curiosity about the connections between people, plants, microbes, and the environment. My research today is driven by a fascination with plants and microbial symbionts and their role in shaping ecosystems.
Outside of science, I enjoy reading nonfiction, hiking, and watching suspenseful movies. I am also an enthusiastic Zumba student and never pass up the fun of reading fortunes from fortune cookies.
I try to live by the words “be kind and be brave.” I believe that being open-minded is essential, not only for navigating an ever-changing world, but also for recognizing that plants, animals, microbes, and humans all share this planet.
