As an ecologist studying how environmental change affects plants and microbes, I am committed to extending the impact of my research through teaching and mentoring the next generation of scientists.
Courses I have taught as an instructor of record:
1. Data synthesis for global change ecology (graduate course)
In this class, students learned how to integrate ecological information across scales using tools such as meta-analysis, systematic review, and database development. We focused on practical skills in harmonizing datasets, conducting reproducible analyses using R and GitHub, and asking broad ecological questions that can be answered by synthesizing data across studies and networks.
2. Agroecology: A Global Perspective (undergraduate course)
This course examined the challenges of sustainable food production in a changing world. Through lectures, discussions, and a field tour, students explored how ecological principles can inform agriculture and food systems. The course concluded with a proposal-writing project, where students applied what they learned to design solutions for real-world agroecological challenges.

I also have had the privilege of working with passionate undergraduate and graduate students whose curiosity and dedication have always inspired me!
